We’re excited to announce the signing of a worldwide publishing agreement with acclaimed writer/artist Jonny Lang. Jonny, who first signed to A&M records as a 15-year-old prodigy in 1996, saw his debut album go multiplatinum, his first five albums hit the Top 50 and has taken home multiple Grammy awards.
One of the busiest live and session musicians of the new millennium, he’s toured with Buddy Guy, BB King, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones and guested on Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival. He’s recorded with a who’s who of blues, rock and country royalty including Guy and King, Willie Nelson and Herbie Hancock.
Over the course of his career, Jonny has evolved his songwriting, organically and via a series of co-writes with such masters as Tommy Sims, Marti Fredrickson, Dennis Morgan, Shannon Sanders and Steven Curtis Chapman, from pure blues to a hybrid of rock, gospel and soul, creating a robust catalog of powerful songs with many flavors.
According to Mojo Co-Founder and CEO Mark Fried, “Since his earliest days playing small clubs in Fargo, Jonny Lang has been a natural triple threat writer, player and singer. While everyone was marveling at his fretwork and vocal chops, he was pouring some deeply personal energy into writing songs. We think we came along at just the right time to partner with Jonny in promoting this wonderful collection of songs and inspiring some new ones.”
Said Jonny Lang, “Mark and the entire Mojo Music team are passionate about music. Their game plan to promote my music and story resonated with all of us. We couldn’t be happier that the songs I’ve written over the last two decades are in their capable hands.”
